Taking about half an hour, this includes detailed
visual examination of the teeth as well as all the
soft tissues (gums, cheeks, tongue and throat). Your
mouth is described as the barometer of the body. This
means that as well as looking to make sure that you
mouth is healthy, an experienced dentist can refer
you for specialist attention of there is a suspicion
of other problems (with the patient's permission of
course). Think of the dental examination as part of
a well person check.

Few of us would buy a domestic appliance, T.V. or camera
without thoroughly investigating the alternatives. We
make sure that what we get suits our purpose and represents
good value (the cheapest is rarely the best value any
more than the most expensive). This is why, once the
examination and any necessary x-rays and study casts
have been taken, we take time to plan your treatment.
You will find out all the options that we offer and
get impartial advice on the relative merits of each.
You will be free to make informed decisions as to which
you feel necessary without obligation or pressure.

By repairing existing damage with a range of materials,
we offer strength and good looks appropriate to the
part of the mouth concerned. The treatment ranges from
fillings right through to crowns and bridges. Implants
(artificial roots placed in the bone) can sometimes
offer solutions to difficult problems. Arrange an informal
appointment if you would like to discuss the ways in
which we can treat specific problems.

Our practice, and especially Dr. Crocker, has long
experience coupled with special qualifications in
understanding the reasons for nervousness and phobia.
Understanding the reason is the first part, treating
the problem is the other. We make no promises, but
the vast majority of those who come manage to enjoy
the benefits of being able to undergo treatment, and
improve both the appearance and function of their
teeth

This involves detecting and treating gum disease. Our
objective is to catch it before it begins and teach
home prevention. Without good and correct advice you
are more likely to lose your teeth because of gum disease
than tooth decay.

We have undertaken the study of growth abnormalities
in the jaws that lead to uneven teeth, poor nasal breathing,
poor facial contours and sometimes congestion around
the facial region. Every patient is different and requires
individual consultation to get the best results.

If the pulp (or nerve) of the tooth dies there is an
alternative to extraction. The treatment involves very
carefully cleaning out the nerve canal and sealing it
right up to the tip of the tooth. With care teeth can
be preserved without too much discomfort.

Sometimes despite the best of modern treatment, and
sometimes because it suits the patient, it is necessary
to remove a tooth. We make sure that the procedure is
painless although it can get a bit physical. The patient
can have a rest or stop as often as they like. A movement
of the hand is sufficient to ensure that the patient
retains control.

There are two basic sorts of dentures, full and partial.
Full dentures are for people who have had all their
teeth removed. Partial dentures fill up gaps between
the existing teeth. They need to be made very precisely
to be wearable. Dr. Crocker has been providing successful
dentures for over thirty years and ensures accuracy
of fit along with natural looks. It has been known for
other dentists to think that his patients' dentures
were real teeth, at first sight!

Very few people, including professionals, realise that
teeth which meet incorrectly can cause or contribute
to severe headaches, neck and back pain. At this practice,
we work together with Osteopaths and other body workers
to reduce these pains considerably.

Do you or your partner snore. If you snore it not only
disturbs others but can also result in less oxygen getting
to your brain during sleep. You can wake up thick headed
and definitely not ready for the day ahead. Often the
problem is caused by the lower jaw dropping back during
sleep thus obstructing the throat. If this is the case,
operations on the soft palate and throat may not work,
and can result in damage or embarrassments like drinks
running down your nose! A carefully constructed dental
appliance which we can make is often the cure. Why not
call in and find out without obligation?
